Client Manager - Construction
Aon is currently recruiting a Client Manager to join the UK Construction projects team, based in London, which forms part of our Global Broking Centre (GBC).
The role is accountable for the day to day running of the account (client service) and can include specific objectives for client retention, new existing and new/new business development within the specialty line of business.
Working collaboratively with other Client Managers and Team Leaders, and in line with GBC broking strategy, the role is responsible for managing client relationships in collaboration with GBC colleagues and wider Aon network account teams. The role will also involve some broking to insurers, both face to face and virtually.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.
What the day will look like:
- Client relationship management (direct clients and/or network)
- Client, insurer and/or network meetings
- Providing benchmarking and placement advice to clients
- Provide technical wording advice to clients and/or network
- Collation of renewal and project information
- Review / create / enhance market submissions
- Define marketing strategy (specific to placement)
- Review draft/final MRC
- Present terms to client/network
- Establish and manage pipeline
- Meeting team budget/forecast in conjunction with the wider team
- Produce and/or deliver tenders
- Complete quote/firm order information in Brokasure including finalise MRC
- Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
- Proven experience in the London Construction market with an insurer, broker or underwriter.
- Good technical insurance knowledge especially in Owner Controlled Insurance Programmes (OCIP), Latent Defects and associated Construction lines of business.
- Sound understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes.
- Established relationships within the London market.
- Ability to use insurance industry IT systems to efficiently deliver client service.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and with network offices.
- Experience of managing effective client relationships.
- Good understanding of compliance and FCA regulation.
