Job overviewThe Pan-Birmingham Gynaecological Cancer Centre is seeking to recruit two ST3 -ST6 Level doctors for this exciting Clinical Research Fellow post to join a busy gynaecological oncology team at the Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital in Birmingham, starting as soon as possible. This is not a Deanery/Health Education England funded training post, and the post does not come with an NTN.
Successful candidates must possess a basic medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and MRCOG with full registration with a License to Practice with the GMC. Recent relevant experience of working in the NHS is required. Candidates must demonstrate how Gynaecological Oncology is relevant to their career plan.
This is a 12-month post with the option of further extension to 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and progression of the trainee.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will work within the gynaecological cancer centre at the Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital and will be expected to undertake the required clinical service provision and training in gynaecological oncology appropriate to their level of experience. The candidate will have exposure to at least 2 surgical sessions, 1 clinic session, daily ward rounds, and an MDT meeting each week. The candidate will be expected to be involved in clinical research and will have a minimum of 2 sessions protected for research time.

Person specification Qualifications- Basic Medical Qualification (MBBS or equivalent)
- MRCOG
- Completed Foundation years 1 and 2 and ST level 3 training
- UK clinical experience in the NHS
- Previous experience in Gynaecology at ST2 level or more
- Previous research experience
- Previous experience in gynaecological oncology care
- Ability to use the evidence base and clinical audit to support decision-making
- Experience of conducting research
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
