Clinical Nurse Specialist -School Nursing Team

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and energetic nurse who enjoys working with children and young people with a variety of complex health and learning needs. The role involves working in a special school setting, alongside our education colleagues to ensure children and young people are given fair equal access to education.
Main Duties of the Job- We are looking for a band 6 nurse to join a team of mixed skill nurses to support children and young people in a school for CYP aged between 4-19 years old.
- You will have good clinical skills as well as be willing to learn new skills. You will be able to plan your workload and pre-empt the needs of the children on your caseload.
- You will be giving tracheostomy care, feeds via jejunostomy, gastrostomy, safe administering of medication, airway maintenance using suctioning, etc.
- You will deliver care for the CYP while they are in their lessons and ensure their education is as uninterrupted as possible.
- You must also have good safeguarding awareness and be happy working within a team.

Person Specification Knowledge- National child protection and safeguarding procedures
- Level 3 mandatory child protection training within the last 3 years
- Minimum 3 years post-registered experience
- Experience of working with children
- RCN
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Various stomas access, care, and management
