Job Description

Commercial Lead, Contractor, London (Duration TBC)

If you have significant experience in effectively negotiating complex contracts that are high profile and of substantial value at both pre and post signature stages, this assignment may well give you a remarkable opportunity to test your capabilities to the full - we are looking for a Commercial Lead who can provide expert advice and manage the execution of commercial activities in respect of extending Pay.UK's legacy central infrastructure contracts and associated commercial deals.

Service Requirements

Commercial and Supplier Management
  • Direct the engagement, governance, and effectiveness with our key suppliers.
  • Oversee the management of complex supplier contracts, operational and strategic reviews and negotiations, putting in place effective improvement action plans to address performance issues and internal controls as appropriate.
  • Ensure that risks identified are actioned, addressed to a satisfactory level and closed in relevant databases and reporting.
  • Oversee commercial management and projects (e.g. continuous improvement, innovation led initiatives, supply chain collaboration, etc.).
  • Input into annual strategic plans in liaison with the Procurement Director, overseeing the commercial management of key suppliers.
  • Facilitate the process for Pay.UK to exit strategic services and manage the subsequent migration to new infrastructure. Provide SME for dispute resolution as required.
Procurement and Category Management
  • Support the wider procurement team to deliver a robust category planning approach which will define the team pipeline of projects with the opportunity clearly identified.
  • Support the wider procurement team to deliver strategic sourcing goals utilising a range of procurement techniques.
Risk and Change Management
  • Provide SME on managing risk and compliance through effective project, contract, demand and supplier performance management and oversee/support on any contractual change management requirements.
  • Identify emerging risks and issues in relation to adequacy and effectiveness of existing controls relating to procurement business processes and technology.
  • Ensure consistent approaches to change across contract and functional areas.
