Role Title: Commercial Officer (Part-time 22.5 hours a week over 3 days)

Location: Hybrid working with one of the following locations as a Primary site: Derby, Manchester or Warrington

We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Commercial Officer, to be involved in commercial activities developing a global supply chain and creating opportunities for the wider industry.

The role will require the successful candidate to manage and lead on a variety of commercial activity, including the negotiation and delivery of contracts in line with business strategy, requirements and budget. These tasks will include developing and managing risk mitigation and ensuring compliance with company policy and process.

Contract drafting and understanding of terms

Drafting, negotiating, executing and managing contracts with suppliers. You will be supported in developing your contract drafting and negotiating skills, starting with lower value and complexity contracts through to more complex contract drafting and negotiation.

You will further your experience of negotiating on company templates as well as reviewing and working on third party forms of contracts or industry forms/models in respect of contract terms and conditions and other commercial elements of a contract.

Commercial Strategy & Pricing

Contribute and deliver the commercial thinking into business strategies relating to suppliers. This could include determining appropriate contract forms, models, pricing, payment, risk allocation etc.

Development of the Commercial Function

A priority activity is the development and maturity of the commercial function in a newly formed business including leading and supporting activities and improvements in relation to governance, processes, policies, training and the development of contract templates and guidance.

Internal interface

You will be interfacing with internal stakeholders, individuals and departments within the Company at differing levels for a variety of purposes. You ideally will have already gained experience in working cross-functionally.

Presenting Information to stakeholders

You will ideally already have some existing experience in taking information, understanding, and presenting it in an appropriate and compelling format to seniors/line managers.

Pay and benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £28,800 - £38,000 DOE plus:

  1. Bonus - On Target Performance Opportunity 7%
  2. Benefits Allowance - £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  3. Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  4. Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  5. Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
  6. Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
  7. £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
