We're hiring - Communication Director

Location: Brussels Full-time ️ Apply by: 14 April 2025

Join GIRP at a defining moment of transformation.

GIRP, the European Healthcare Distribution Association, represents full-line pharmaceutical wholesalers across 34 countries in Europe. We ensure that patients have access to vital medications-but we often remain invisible in the process. We're changing that, and we're looking for a Communication Director to lead the way.

This is an opportunity to shape how our voice is heard-by the public, by policymakers, and across healthcare systems in Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the association's communications efforts, reporting directly to the Director-General, with a small team and budget for external communication services.
  • Rebrand the association.
  • Develop a new external communications strategy.
  • Overhaul internal communication with members.
  • Collaborate with our public affairs team to deliver on policy priorities set by the association's board.
  • Work with our events team to ensure our events drive the messages and priorities we want to be known for.
  • Assist the Director General and President with their public engagements when necessary.
  • Manage our external communications platforms (websites, social media, etc.), including allocated budget.
  • Handle relations with media outlets.
  • Oversee communication service providers, including allocated budget.
  • Manage internal communication platforms (intranet, app, mail services, etc.).
  • Design and manage dedicated campaigns.
  • Responsible for design, visual identity, and assets in this area.

Core Qualifications Required:

  • 5-7 years of experience in political and/or organisational communication.
  • Degree in communication or related fields.
  • Fluent in English (other European languages are an asset).
  • Experience working with external service providers or in communications consultancy.
  • Ability to develop and execute communication strategies.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in both language and visual presentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, InDesign, Canva, and/or other relevant software.

Why Join Us?

  • You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the future of healthcare distribution in Europe.
  • You'll be part of a dynamic team during a pivotal moment of transformation.
  • You'll work alongside passionate professionals who are committed to making a difference.
  • GIRP is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion.
  • We promote a safe, respectful, and healthy work environment.
  • We actively support the physical and mental well-being of everyone on our team.
