Head of Communications RA Business

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will be a member of the Business Line (BL) Management Team and is responsible for the translation of the BL strategy into a customer-focused communications plan and tactics that support BL positioning externally and internally and growth. This is an excellent opportunity with a global remit for an experienced communicator with the ability to work and leverage resources across a highly matrixed organization to support business growth through devising and driving a communications plan to provide a unique positioning for the BL, with the support and interaction of the RA Communications Central leadership team, of which she/he is a member. The location of the role is flexible globally with a preference for a European location. This position is a fixed-term role for 7 months, starting in August 2025, to cover paternity leave.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. As part of BL Management team, actively contribute to the BL growth strategy & execution.
  2. In close interaction with and the support of the RA Central Communications team, translate BL strategy into targeted global customer-focused communications plan and tactics that support BL positioning and growth including: BL MD thought leadership, external and social media, digital online content, trade shows & events and product and solutions communications.
  3. Create central BL positioning and communications content for products and solutions, develop communications calendar including events and shows, media and speaking opportunities.
  4. Working with RA Internal Communications, responsible for BL internal communications plan that ensures the direction of the BL is clear to all employees and that each understand what is required of them for success.
  5. Work with RA Coms leads in BL-led countries (dotted line to Business Coms Partner) to ensure sharing of content and execution of in-country communications plan including local exhibitions, roadshow activities, including media and online outreach, to support positioning and growth in country.
  6. Responsible for developing KPI's and monitoring return on investment for all BL led communications activities. Create bank of content for reuse by global communicators in coordination with RA Coms team.
  7. Builds community of users/partners/alumni in social networks. Working with RA Central Coms, support/strengthen functional competencies across the BL and BL led country teams.
Qualifications for the role
  • 10 to 15 years of related experience, preferably a mix of Corporate/Agency experience within the technology industry and extensive media relations experience.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization and in coordinating with and working across geographies. Practice in building and collaborating with formal and informal networks at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong business acumen, expected to develop a deep and sophisticated understanding of the business, the portfolio, trends and key decision makers/influencers, as well as an understanding of the key drivers for success.
  • Strong analytical/writing skills, able to support on keynote presentations, executive talking points, media briefings, Q&A documents etc.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
  • Complete connectivity with communications central team, proactive business partner, contributing communications ideas on how to improve business performance.
  • Fluent English proficiency, excellent spoken and written editorial skills. Intercultural sensitivity and experienced in cross-functional, international collaboration and building strong personal networks.
  • Action-oriented, strong attention to detail, able to take ownership of large and complex projects and see them through to completion with a high standard of excellence. Positive and passionate personality, with a strong drive to challenge the status quo and continuously improve things.
