Overview
Dabble is a social betting platform, dedicated to delivering innovative wagering experiences while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and safer gambling. We are operating in Australia and the USA and looking ahead as we prepare to launch our UK operations, we are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our team to design and implement systems and processes to ensure that our UK business operates within all regulatory frameworks.
The Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring Dabble meets all UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) regulatory requirements. You will lead compliance operations, manage regulatory relationships, oversee the development of policies and procedures, and support Dabble's commitment to responsible gambling and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the UK government policy positions, legislative processes in the UK, and current compliance requirements in the sports gaming/wagering industries.
Primary Location
This role is currently open to London and Edinburgh (we're still figuring out where our office(s) should be).
Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the UK Gambling Commission's (UKGC) Licensing Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) and other applicable regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, controls, and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
- Lead and manage the UK-specific compliance framework, including self-exclusion processes, AML/CTF measures, and safer gambling tools.
- Conduct gap analyses to identify and address any deficiencies in compliance processes.
- Work with Dabble's compliance and legal teams to interpret regulatory requirements, assess impacts on business operations, and drive internal policy adherence.
- Monitor Dabble's compliance with its licence conditions and ensure other Dabble teams meet their reporting requirements.
UK Policy Monitoring
- Track, analyse, and report on legislative and regulatory developments related to daily fantasy sports, online sports betting and i-gaming in the UK.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on key regulatory changes, risks, and potential impacts on the sports betting industry.
- Prepare briefings and position papers on emerging issues, helping the company anticipate and respond to legislative trends.
Regulatory Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact with the UKGC and other regulatory authorities.
- Manage license applications, renewals, audits, and ongoing reporting obligations.
- Represent Dabble in industry discussions, consultations, and policy forums.
Risk Management
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated in line with enterprise risk management principles.
- Monitor emerging regulatory and legislative changes and provide proactive recommendations for compliance adjustments.
Training and Awareness
- Deliver and or support the deployment of compliance training to employees, ensuring all staff understand their roles in maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour across the organisation.
Safer Gambling
- Drive Dabble's safer gambling initiatives in the UK, ensuring tools and messaging meet UKGC requirements.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safer gambling programs.
Data Protection
- Ensure compliance with UK data protection regulations, including GDPR, for customer data handling and retention.
- Work with the legal and IT teams to safeguard data privacy and security.
Strategic Communication & Issue Management
- Collaborate with the corporate communications team to develop messaging strategies related to government and regulatory affairs.
- Receive and direct external inquiries from government representatives, industry partners, and media as needed. Noting all public communications are made by the CEO.
- Assist leadership in crisis management and issue resolution as relevant to regulatory and government affairs matters, ensuring the company's position is clearly and effectively conveyed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the UK gambling industry or a regulated sector.
- In-depth knowledge of UKGC regulations, AML/CTF requirements, GDPR, and safer gambling frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide actionable guidance.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including interactions with regulators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications in compliance, law, or risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, law, media communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory compliance or lobbying.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil regulatory information into clear, actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Remuneration
The advertised salary for this position is $45,000 GBP- $60,000 GBP+ Benefits with room to be flexible.
