Job Title: Consolidation Manager - Senior

Contract Duration: 3 months (May to July)

Pay rate: As per experience

Location: Antwerp, Belgium


Department description and responsibilities:

The Consolidation Manager applies his expertise in accounting, consolidation techniques and IFRS to autonomously manage a set of consolidation tasks required for the Group monthly financial reporting, ad-hoc IFRS analysis as well as for the externally published financial statements.


Primary Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Take an active role in the consolidation process (equity reconciliation, consolidation elimination entries, consolidation accounting entries, intercompany reconciliation ) together with the other member of the team.
  • Perform the needed controls on the consolidation packages entering the system at each 'Published' closing.
  • Provide assistance to remote sites whenever needed.
  • Act as a coordinator with the tax department, reflect with them on an optimal tax reporting in compliance with new tax legislation.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis according to management requests.
  • Act in the digitalization/automation roadmap by being a key element in the deployment of new consolidation tools.
  • Ensuring the accounting, consolidation and financial reporting is in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assist in IFRS analysis and business partnering for contemplated transactions to assess their potential impact of Group accounts
  • Ensure SAP accounts structure of the group companies are in line with the Group chart of accounts.


Secondary Tasks and responsibilities:

  • In case of acquisitions-
  • Assist the senior consolidation manager in computing the opening balance sheet based on retrieved local info and IFRS rules.
  • Ensure the inclusion of the new subsidiaries into the consolidation system.
  • Ensure integration of the new entities into the intercompany scope.
  • Provide training to new people.


Technical profile requirements:

  • +5 Years financial experience in consolidation, accounting or external audit with IFRS experience.
  • Good technical background in accounting, IFRS, consolidation and tax.
  • Able to work in a highly IS system driven environment: Office tools (mainly Excel), SharePoint, Consolidation and Reporting tools (IBM Cognos Controller), disclosure management solution (IBM CDM). knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is an add-on.

  • Be stress resistant, accurate under time pressure and pro-active.
  • Good communication skills (multi-department, cross business units and legal entities, external auditors) including communication of technical or financial information to a non-technical audience in a concise way.
  • Have an innovate mindset and open to changes and to improvements.


Methodology/Certification requirements:

  • Master's degree in Economics or finance or equivalent by experience.


Language proficiencies:

  • Fluent speaking and writing English (any other language is a plus).
