Construction Disputes Associate Solicitor 3+ PQE Leading Law Firm Birmingham


BCL Legal is thrilled to partner with a prestigious UK law firm in their search for an experienced Construction Disputes Associate to join their expanding team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction disputes lawyer with 3+ years' PQE to work on high-profile cases within a dynamic and collaborative team. The firm offers flexible working arrangements, with a Birmingham base.


The Role

As a Construction Disputes Associate, you will:

  1. Advise clients on a broad range of construction and engineering disputes, from JCT and NEC-based contracts to public sector procurement and PFI matters.
  2. Take the lead on dispute resolution, representing clients in adjudication, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  3. Work closely with senior team members, managing complex cases and building strong client relationships.
  4. Provide clear, practical legal advice and assist clients with contract interpretation and training.
  5. Support the growth and development of the team, with opportunities to supervise and mentor junior colleagues if desired.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will:

  1. Be a qualified solicitor with 3+ years' PQE in construction disputes or a related field.
  2. Have a keen interest in working with clients in the housing, local government, social business, and charity sectors.
  3. Be a proactive, client-focused individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
  4. Have experience in alternative dispute resolution methods such as adjudication and mediation (desirable but not essential).
  5. Be eager to contribute to business development and help drive the team's growth.
