Non-Contentious Construction Legal Director 5+ PQE Leading National Law Firm Birmingham

BCL Legal is pleased to be working on a standout opportunity for a Legal Director or experienced Senior Associate to join a highly regarded national construction team, based in Birmingham. This is a strategic hire for the firm as it continues to strengthen its non-contentious construction offering. The successful candidate will play a key role in high-value construction projects, advising top-tier clients and mentoring junior team members, with clear scope for further progression.

The Role:

You will advise on a broad range of high-profile, non-contentious construction matters, working with an impressive client base that spans developers, contractors, consultants, public sector bodies, universities, and major housebuilders.
Projects include large-scale infrastructure, housing developments, and process engineering builds.

Key responsibilities include:

- Drafting and negotiating construction contracts and ancillary agreements (JCT, NEC etc.)
- Advising on procurement and project structuring
- Supporting the real estate, corporate, and banking teams with construction input on transactions
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Participating in client development and firm-wide BD initiatives

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- A minimum of 5 years' PQE with a strong focus on non-contentious construction matters
- A background from a well-regarded regional, national or international law firm
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- A collaborative and commercial approach to client relationships
- A genuine enthusiasm for team development and business growth
