Are you ready to make a real difference in patient care? We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant with expertise in both Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine. In this exciting, high-impact role, you'll be at the forefront of providing life-saving treatment in high-pressure environments.
It is essential that the post-holder holds the FRCEM or an equivalent qualification and is on the GMC Specialist Register for both Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine, or will obtain a relevant CCT/CESR(CP) within 6 months of the interview.

Main duties of the jobThis substantive Consultant post is in Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine, it therefore crosses both services. Applicants are expected to participate actively in the development of both services as well as providing DCC to both. Supervision of resident doctors will also be required in both specialities.
It is expected that the successful applicant will work to an agreed job plan. An indicative version is shown in the table. Once appointed, applicants will have a job plan agreed in conjunction with our clinical director and theirs, on behalf of the Medical Director.

Person Specification Qualifications- MB BS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration
- At or within 6 months of interview or already on the specialist GMC register.
- FRCA / FFICM / MRCP / FRCEM
- CCT in ICM and Anaesthesia
- Single CCT ICM accommodated
- Membership of Specialist Societies
- MD or equivalent
- Further postgraduate qualifications
- EDIC, DICM
- Applicants must have completed higher training / dual training in ICM (As defined by FICM)
- Stage 3 level training (as defined by FICM)
- Experience of good quality audit
- Willingness to actively participate in departmental audit/quality improvement
- Relevant research interests
- Presentation at recognised national and/or international meetings
- Ongoing research within specialties(s)
- Experience of and commitment to postgraduate teaching
- Evidence of training for teaching
- Understanding of current educational needs within specialty
- Commitment to undergraduate / postgraduate and allied professional education
- Good Team working abilities
