A Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is required for the Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The post is an 8 PA Substantive post. The post-holder will join the Emotional and Behavioural team at Greatorex Street Community CAMHS, a long-established service for the assessment and treatment of young people up to the age of 18 years, their families and carers living in the borough of Tower Hamlets. The post holder will hold a joint Clinical Team Leader position in a well-established joint leadership structure with a co-Clinical Team Lead.

Person Specification Education/Qualification/Training- Full GMC registration
- MRCPsych parts 1&2 or equivalent
- Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or CCT in appropriate specialty (or within 6 months)
- Section 12 approved and Approved Clinician status or willing to apply for approval
- Higher academic degree
- Higher training in a specific psychotherapeutic treatment or modality e.g. Family Therapy, CBT, individual or group psychotherapy
- Experience in a research project
- Publication accepted by peer review journals in a relevant academic field
- Possesses an extensive range of clinical knowledge and excellent clinical skills.
- Experience of assessment and management of CYP with complex mental health disorders
- Excellent communication skills with a range of different people
- Shows enthusiasm and initiative in pursuing innovation and the highest standards for patients, juniors, colleagues and the organisation
- Experience of teaching in small groups and lecturing
- Commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, academic and clinical
- Familiarity with problem based learning approaches
- Enthusiastic and organised approach to audit and quality assurance
- Ability to operate effectively in a committee
- Training in management skills
- Experience of management of a clinical area
- Experience of service development
- Meets professional health requirements
- Adherence to the highest ethical and professional standards

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 a year Per annum pro-rata
