Job Description
Contracts Manager - Building Maintenance
Location: Kings Cross, London
Salary: £60k - £70k
The Contracts Manager - Building Maintenance will oversee the management of all building fabric maintenance activities, ensuring successful contract delivery. The role involves leading a team of in-house technicians and sub-contractors, managing P&L, and fostering customer relationships to ensure the achievement of contract performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver a contract with an income value of £1.0m - £1.5m.
- Drive small works projects, including surveying, costing, and delivery management.
- Compile and present financial applications and ensure timely WIP and debt management.
- Monitor and improve KPI and SLA performance, driving operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
- Support supplier performance management and employee development.
- Serve as a key customer interface and participate in management initiatives for business growth.
- Manage operational issues, escalations, and resolutions effectively.
Key Dimensions:
- 6-10 direct reports.
- Accountable for contract value and growth targets.
- Ensure safe and compliant performance across all sites.
- Manage P&L, WIP & Debt to meet targets.
Essential Experience:
- Proven track record in building contracting or maintenance.
- Experience managing contracts up to £2m in value.
- Strong leadership and technical knowledge in building trades.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of compliance maintenance records and legislation.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in Building Contracting or related fields.
- Experience with MTC, JTC, and NEC forms of contract.
- IOSH certification or equivalent.
