Pigment Consulting is a bold and disruptive, digitally enabled transformation consultancy delivering impactful change across Central Government & Defence. Due to continued success in our Defence sector portfolio, we are currently seeking experienced cost assurance consultants.
We are seeking experienced Cost Assurance, Cost Modelling and Cost Estimation Consultants to join Pigment on a series of long-term projects across the UK Defence sector. These opportunities will involve validating, monitoring, and controlling project costs while ensuring financial risk is minimised and compliance is maintained.
As part of a blended team, you will play a vital role in ensuring value for money for high-profile, high-value defence projects.
What you'll be doing;
- Cost Assurance: Providing oversight and independent assessment of project costs in complex and critical environments.
- Budget & Cost Reviews: Reviewing and analysing budgets and costs for ongoing projects.
- Financial Risk Management: Monitor and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential cost overruns or budget discrepancies.
- Identify Overspending or Underspending: Perform detailed checks to identify any financial discrepancies, such as overspending or underspending, and recommend corrective actions.
- Cost Validation & Verification: Verify the accuracy of costs and billings, ensuring that all charges are fair and justified.
- Audit Trails & Compliance: Provide detailed audit trails and documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Value for Money (VfM): Ensure that all spending reflects the best value for money for the UK taxpayer and is aligned with defence objectives.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in cost assurance, cost planning, or cost modelling, preferably within the defence sector or other complex, high-value projects.
- Strong understanding of financial risk management and the ability to develop strategies to manage and mitigate risks.
- Experience with budgeting, cost validation, and financial oversight on long-term contracts.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and discrepancies in cost structures.
- Strong knowledge of compliance and audit processes in large-scale projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing strategic advice and support.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills to provide clear insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
