Data Engineer

12 month FTC - Hybrid

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer to join a leading financial institution on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, supporting critical data processes and regulatory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver data pipelines to collect, validate, and prepare high-quality data, automating key processes across the bank.
• Maintain and enhance existing SSIS ETLs (overnight and intraday), ensuring performance optimisation, robustness, and improved error monitoring.
• Provide support to the internal IT department on software platform changes and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain UK and EU regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Microsoft SSIS (7+ years) - Extensive experience in developing and managing ETL workflows.
• Microsoft SSAS, SSRS (2+ years) - Hands-on experience with analytical and reporting solutions.
• C# Programming for Web Applications (7+ years) - Strong expertise in C# development.
• Windows Applications (2+ years) - Experience in building and supporting Windows applications.
• Software Analysis & Design - Strong understanding of best practices in software development.
• Application Support (2nd & 3rd Line) - Proven track record in supporting business-critical applications.
• Problem Solving & Critical Thinking - Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of dimensional modelling, ER modelling, and normalised modelling
• Understanding of data warehouse design concepts (Inmon, Kimball methodologies)
