Job Description:
Be a part of the team testing the next generation of electrified propulsion systems for our client products. We are at the forefront of development in hybrid and full electric powertrains, aiming to deliver electrifying performance and peerless refinement. We are looking for individuals who are excited about our data management and validation and can bring their passion and experience to our growing team.
This role will work across Electric Machine, Electric Drive Unit (EDU), Inverter, Cell, Battery, Power in Loop (PiL) and Vehicle in Loop (ViL) test beds. The person in the lead data validation and management role will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, secured, and accessible test data for the wider engineering group to enable efficient engineering decisions. Data Sources and Data Acquisition, Data Quality Validation, Data Piping, Data Storage, and Data Visualisation are critical to developing world-class propulsion systems.
The specialist role seeks a person with extensive knowledge of different testing environments data management and validation. The role will require you to work cross-functionally to deploy a common approach to data piping, data validation tools, and to build a federated data platform. You will be the Subject Matter Expert for data management and validation and deliver a training package to develop others in order to improve the data quality produced by the team.
Skills Required:
- Have you worked in a physical testing environment?
- Have you developed systems/tools using Python, Matlab, Concerto, or any other programming language?
- Have you set up data pipelines and data storage in industrial cloud platforms?
- Have you used Tableau or other data visualisation tools?
Experience Required:
- Educated to degree level in a natural science, mathematics, engineering, or computing discipline.
- Experience designing applications in different programming languages (preferably Python, Concerto).
- Experience in building data systems & pipelines, data validation, and management in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
- Complex data analysis skills, including hypothesis testing, uncertainty analysis, and process variation.
- Ability to work closely with engineering stakeholders to influence analysis techniques to inform engineering decisions.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and ability for graphical data presentation.
- Technical/theoretical understanding of physical measurement equipment.
- Ability to deliver written reports and technical presentations.
Experience Preferred:
- Academic thesis or capstone project in a formal field of study.
- Post-bachelor work in the field of formal study.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Technical knowledge of process, calculation, and measurement techniques demanded by both engineering and legislative requirements.
- Experience in measurement science.
- Quantitative understanding of equipment measurement sensitivity.
