Job description

The Cyber Investigations Supply Chain Fusion team works within the Governance, Risk and Compliance team, in the Cyber Defence and Risk Directorate and is responsible for:
engagement with core stakeholders across Defence and Industry.
assistance in integrating the Defence supply chain as part of wider Cyber Investigation activities, highlighting potential vulnerabilities and the associated cyber risks.
the analysis of trend data within the Defence supply chain.

Responsibilities
Supporting the development and integration of the approach for proactive follow-up actions of poor performance by the supply chain.
Lead data analysis into an understanding of triggers to risk events.
Collaboration with wider teams to ensure the fusion of supply chain with technology, people processes and behavioural elements, as part of Cyber Investigations.
Support activities to hold supply chain to account for remediation actions, following investigation activities.
Conduct thorough assessments of supply chain processes to identify potential cyber security risks, recommend mitigation strategies and enhance overall security posture, in alignment with MOD standards.
Support departmental and wider work to develop mechanisms to drive continuous improvement and encourage the sharing of best practice.

Person specification

This role may be suitable for someone with previous experience in data analysis, information management, risk management and/or governance and data protection. Ideally, you'll also have the following skills:
Acute attention to detail.
Great organisation, timekeeping and prioritisation skills.
Able to keep calm under pressure and use your initiative and analytical skills.
Personable, task focused and able to build relationships with the core team and wider colleagues.
A passion for security and technology and identifying and solving problems.
An understanding of cyber threats and associated methodologies and frameworks such as Mitre ATT&CK and NIST.
Motivation, commitment and the desire to continue to learn and develop.
Experience or knowledge of leading, supporting, coaching and mentoring colleagues.

Additional details:

A Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA) of up to £9k per annum may be payable with this post, paid in increments upon reaching the required level of competence.

This allowance is not permanent, it is subject to an annual review to confirm whether there is a continuing business need, it can be increased, reduced or withdrawn at any time.

Location. This position can be based at either MOD Main Building, Whitehall, London SW1A 2HB, MOD Corsham, Westwells Road, Corsham, Wiltshire SN13 9NR or RAF Wyton, Huntingdon, PE28 2EA.

Work location will be agreed once the successful candidate has been selected.

There may be a requirement to travel within the UK (or potentially occasional overseas visits) for meetings, training or operational reasons.

We may provide opportunities to gain the following (or similar) industry qualifications, certifications or memberships where required:
Membership of a relevant institution or body e.g., Institute of Information Security Professionals, Council for Registered Ethical Security Testers, British Computer Society (BCS)
Relevant industry qualifications and accreditations e.g., Certified Security Operations Centre Analyst
GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON)

If not already held, successful candidates will be required to obtain DV clearance prior to taking up employment. This position is open to sole UK nationals only.
