Job Description

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage procurement operations and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure advantageous terms.
  • Assess and manage supply risks and implement risk management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Procurement to set departmental goals and objectives.
  • Lead, coach and develop the procurement team to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics.
  • Stay informed of advancements in the Transport & Distribution industry to identify potential opportunities for company growth.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Deputy Head of Procurement should have:

  • Experience in private and public sector would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the Transport & Distribution industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and legalities.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and a commercial mindset
