About the School
Required for September 2025, the governors of St Oswald's Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational practising Catholic Deputy Headteacher who will develop and share our vision of high-quality education for all, with a deep commitment to our mission statement:
Together with Jesus, We will Learn and Grow in Faith.
St Oswald's Primary School is a larger than average, three form entry primary school catering for children aged three to eleven years. The school amalgamated in 2016 and is situated in two separate buildings. We can offer a prospective Deputy Head a school that in our most recent inspection in June 2024 was deemed to still be a 'Good' school (Ofsted) and our CSI Inspection in March 2024 found us to be a 'Good' school in all areas.
We have happy, well-behaved children who love their school and enjoy learning, and extremely hard working, friendly staff who are dedicated to supporting development. A close working partnership exists between school, parents/carers, community and church, and a governing body who is fully committed to continuing the development of this fantastic school.
About the Role
We are looking for a leader with exceptionally strong values who will foster and develop the respectful and inclusive ethos of our Catholic School. The successful candidate will bring energy and drive, demonstrating excellence in classroom practice and will be inspirational in enabling progress and raising standards. They must be creative, forward thinking and skilled in leading and managing areas of school improvement. The successful candidate must be able to face challenges with positivity, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team worker, and essentially have a good sense of humour.
Governors are looking for a candidate with a passion for promoting a clear child-centred vision of educational excellence, developing children's love of learning whilst ensuring high levels of progress and attainment.

- Be accountable to the Headteacher;
- Be a member of the senior management team;
