We are looking for an experienced Deputy Radiology Manager who will be responsible for the operational management of a part of the diagnostic imaging department ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services, and/or to be a specialty lead in a clinical area such as MRI, CT, or mammography, whilst supporting the Radiology Manager. You will have the relevant specialist knowledge with previous people management experience, good communication, and IT skills, to help us build a healthier nation as a Deputy Radiology Manager at our Wessex Hospital.
The Radiology department is a growing and busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, mammography, and MRI. You will undertake a wide range of duties in helping to run the day-to-day operations of the radiology service as well as participating in clinical work.
You hold a BSc degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification, and be HCPC registered. With a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR, and be able to undertake audits, with a preferred background in CT and MRI. Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable.
We have a duty to apply to the DBS disclosure on successful candidates.
As our Deputy Radiology Manager, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership within a highly specialised area
- Participate in departmental QA, audit, and all aspects of mandatory training
- As a clinical lead, enjoy scoping to develop policies and procedures
- Deputise and support the Radiology Manager
- Supervise and develop other members of staff, including mentoring students and perceptees
- Work in partnership supporting practitioners and other departments around the hospital
- See each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy
- Exhibit excellent communication and team working abilities

There are 16 consulting rooms with specialty outpatient rooms, 46 private patient bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a 24 hr resident doctor on site (RMO), four operating theatres, and one endoscopy suite.
