An exciting opportunity has arisen for a gynae nurse specialist to join our friendly, highly motivated, dynamic and hard-working Emergency Gynaecology team on AGTU at QMC campus of NUH.
A passion for the delivery of high quality care is essential for supporting the needs of our patients. As a band 6 nurse specialist you will be required to demonstrate the ability to work independently and lead on the care in our early pregnancy areas of GTU.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients in the AGTU clinical area.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide strong clinical leadership.
- Support the emotional needs of women and their families attending GTU.
- Provide expert knowledge of gynae and early pregnancy complications on a 24/7 basis.
- Level one Adult NMC registration.
- Relevant gynaecology / early pregnancy experience.
- Evidence of continued professional development e.g. pain management, venepuncture & cannulation.
- Masters Degree in health / nursing related studies.
- Supervision / mentoring experience & skills.
- Experience of gynaecology / early pregnancy / bereavement pathways.
- Evidence of link nurse / audit / project work.
- Evidence of giving individual feedback.
- Ability to prioritise patient care/needs.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication.
- Evidence of negotiation and influencing skills.
- Evidence of MDT working.
- Evidence of formal teaching sessions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the nurse specialist role.
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex clinical and non-clinical information.
- Demonstrates the ability to use initiative whilst understanding own limitations.
- Evidence of data collection and analysis.
- Demonstrates ideas of using initiative and moving service forwards.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and recognise urgent and emergency situations.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to lead a team.
- Ability to perform a whole range of nursing duties.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns across days/nights, week and weekend shifts.
- Evidence of moving and handling training.
