About the Role
We're looking for a Design Lead to join the Detail Design team at BAE Systems. This is a key role where you'll provide technical leadership, guide team members, and ensure the successful delivery of complex design work.
You'll act as a subject matter expert, applying your engineering knowledge to support project delivery, check outputs, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance and technical support to the team.
• Lead and check complex design activities using CAD and other tools.
• Ensure compliance with standards, processes, and quality expectations.
• Champion best practices and continuous improvement.
• Support stakeholder communication and issue resolution.

• Strong background in Design and ideally worked within Naval on the Type 26, Hunter or Canada project ships for a minimum of 5 years.
• Experience of DOQA.
• Experience with large-scale engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• HNC/HND or equivalent vocational training (EngTech/IEng/CEng desirable).
