Design Manager

We're lookingfor a Design Manager to join our Utilities team based in Falmer,Brighton to lead and manage engineering design delivery forassigned water projects on our new 7-year, c£1bn framework withSouthern Water.

Location: FalmerBrighton - remote working available, with weekly travel to theoffice required

Contract: Permanent,Fulltime

Responsibilities

As a Design Manager, you'll provide expertengineering support to the design and construction of the SouthernWater portfolio of non-infrastructure, water and wastewaterprojects. Services covering the counties of Kent, Sussex andHampshire, including the Isle of Wight.

Your day to day willinclude:

Spearheadingand optimising the engineering assurance process for designsprepared by partner at outline design and Capital Delivery partnersat tender and construction design Ensuring thatthe Engineering D esign team, design consultants and construction partners aredeveloping technically and economically proficient engineering solutions
• Implementing design quality procedures upholdingright-first-time philosophy adherence
• Seeking opportunities in enhancing affordability and value throughout the design process
Maintainingcompliance with Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations , managing design-related health and safetyrisks

What are we lookingfor?

This role ofDesign Manager is great if you have:

• Working towards Chartered Engineer status witha degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineeringdiscipline
• Experience of managing anddriving a multi-discipline technical engineering team with a proventrack record of driving sustainable performance against challengingbusiness targets
• Significant knowledge of waterand wastewater treatment processes and a f ull drivinglicence in order to visit various offices / sites
