Job Description

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy providing high-quality services across a range of sectors, is actively seeking a Design Manager to join their expanding team. With a strong presence in healthcare and residential projects, they deliver schemes valued between £5m and £20m. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Manager to join their team in Newcastle. Candidates from various backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including Building Surveying, Architecture, and Project Management.

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design process across various healthcare and residential projects. You will ensure that design solutions are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to achieve project objectives.

Job Overview
  • Manage the design development process from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design objectives align with project requirements
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, including planning approvals and building regulations
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and risks, identifying and mitigating potential issues
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct design reviews and lead coordination meetings to ensure smooth project progression
  • Collaborate with commercial and construction teams to integrate design solutions into project delivery
Job Requirements
  • Background in Architecture, Project Management, or Building Surveying
  • Experience in either residential or healthcare schemes is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a team
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations, planning policies, and industry standards
  • Live within a commutable distance of Newcastle
