Diabetes Specialist Nurse (Slough)
Posted 3 days 4 hours ago by Chase Medical
We have a truly unique permanent job opportunity for those with a special interest in Diabetes. If you're looking for a new specialist job, this is definitely something you'll want to hear more about.
The opportunity is for Practice Nurses/Primary Care Specialist Nurses, who have a particular interest in Diabetes Management, to join an independent, nationwide service based in Primary Care.
This group is looking for a nurse to work either part-time (4 days per week minimum) OR full-time. There is no requirement for weekend work or unsociable hours.
What's on offer?
- 10% Annual Bonus (on achieving KPIs, after first year)
- Private Pension and Medical Indemnity (salary sacrifice scheme optional)
- Mobile and Home Broadband package included
- Diary managed for you by a robust admin team
- Unparalleled CPD and career development opportunities
About the role
This job is particularly unique, in that you'll be providing support to various surgeries and patients in a city-wide radius (max. 2-hour drive) rather than based at a particular site, to help improve patient health, deliver specialist clinics, and optimise service development.
Typical job duties might involve: identifying sub-optimally controlled patients with Type 2 Diabetes, optimising their oral therapy, conducting point of care testing, and referring for specialist insulin treatment where necessary.
You must hold a full UK driving license, as a company car will be provided (or a generous fuel allowance for those wishing to use their own vehicle). You'll also receive a fuel card for business miles.
The service operates standard weekday hours (8:30-17:30), and clinic times are generally around 6 hours. A working day would consist of travel time + clinic hours.
About you
This role would suit an established Nurse, with a particular interest in diabetic conditions. Ideally, you'll have the following:
- 3 Years Experience (minimum) managing diabetic conditions is an essential requirement for this role
- Relevant Diploma in Diabetes Management (or equivalent)
