About This Role:
Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director, Business Development, in our CRO and Consulting Services Business Unit. As a member of the business development team at Veranex, you will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation. The ideal candidate will have medical device clinical experience. As part of the business development team at Veranex (with a focus on clinical operations), you will impact the success of the organization by driving sales of company solutions and services to prospective and current customers across client's product lifecycles.
What You Will Do :
- Generates sales to new customers and cross-, up-, and repeat sales to existing customers.
- Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for company's vision and drives enthusiasm for organization's work.
- Assesses customer needs and recommends appropriate products, services, and/or solutions.
- Develops and delivers sales bids/proposals/presentations, including detailed clinical study budget proposals (for first in human, early- feasibility, pivotal and post-market studies and performance evaluations)
- Understand Veranex's cross-sell opportunities that impact/overlap with clinical operations (I.e. regulatory, market access, reimbursement, product development timelines, quality assurance)
- Develops medium- to long-term sales plans and prepares strategies to protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.
- Networks, develops potential leads, and follows through to bring in new business.
- Coordinates with operations leaders to create specific solutions for potential clients.
- Development of a strong pipeline of clinical projects (FIH, early feasibility, feasibility, pivotal, post-market) for Veranex, typically multi-year studies providing substantial and predictable revenue.
- Building awareness and establishing credibility globally of Veranex's capacity and capabilities
- Prospecting and networking to generate leads and identify prospective new clients, engaging with prospective clients, completing proposals and closing sales
- Creates formal networks with key decision makers and serves as an external spokesperson for the organization.
- Directly influence design/selling success or address strategy, future concepts, products or technologies
- Collaborates with Marketing to create messaging that promotes brand value.
Qualifications :
Required skills :
- Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 8+ years of experience of demonstrated success in sales generation and achieving high-growth sales targets
- Strong knowledge of medical device focused CROs and clinical trial execution, with a track record of success selling competitively in a relevant space
- Ability to make clinical protocol refinement suggestions and protocol design edits to clients with a wide variety of clinical knowledge (e.g. CEO/CTOs with little clinical trial execution experience to VPs of Clinical departments with years of executing clinical trials)
- Experience with designing/quoting international studies
- Strong knowledge of medical device regulations for market applications (510(k), PMA, De Novo) and types of interactions with agencies (FDA, Notified Bodies) that pertain to and support clinical and non-clinical product development
- Goal-driven with a sense of urgency
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong financial and analytical skills
Preferred:
- Has sold Med Tech services, combined with subject matter expertise in clinical/CRO operations
