Job Description

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Director, Laboratory Sales.

Position Status : Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: Onsite at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, VA - Travel Required

Standard Working Hours : 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Position Summary:

Contribute to Sentara Reference Laboratory initiatives focused on expanding market share and reputation in the Outreach Reference Laboratory segment. Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Sales Strategies for growth and retention.

Achieve established Growth, Retention, Opportunity Plan and Relationship Strategy objectives. Cultivate relationships with key influencers and decision makers in laboratory outreach. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and engage targeted audiences including creating opportunities to meaningfully connect Laboratory Leadership as appropriate.

Develop and manage strategic a growth plan to include customer specific opportunities, value proposition and benchmarking of competitor capabilities. Perform gap analysis - at segment and targeted opportunity levels - and develop action plans to address.
Develop, manage a sales team and territories based on strategic objectives.

Travel required. May include use of personal automobile.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences

  • Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience; life sciences industry preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • High level of both verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.

  • Requires a Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience

  • Masters or MBA
