Job responsibilitiesThe Director of Nursing and Quality is accountable for the delivery of the professional nursing and AHP agenda and will provide strong visible professional leadership to Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and AHPs across all settings encouraging innovation, creativity and strategic thinking about service provision.
Your primary role will be to ensure that the organisation is meeting its statutory requirements in respect to Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Children and Health and Safety.
The role will assume delegated responsibility from the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for operational management of the Nursing and Quality Directorate, directly leading and managing the Associate Directors of Nursing in delivery of the CNO portfolio, including, Quality; Clinical Practice & Education; Patient Safety & Experience, the Head of Safeguarding and the Freedom to Speak up Guardian.
Additional Criteria for Success- Evidence of continuing professional/ leadership development management qualification + relevant master's level qualification.
- Significant senior nurse leadership experience either at Deputy DoN level or divisional level acute hospital leadership experience.
- Significant experience of working in health care environments at a senior level, with Board/sub board experience.
- Significant experience of managing large, complex services, including solving a range of complex operational and strategic challenges.
- Demonstrate solid professional decision-making ability, to manage complex professional issues.
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix organisation.
- Demonstrates breadth and depth of understanding of current clinical quality and health care policy.
- Proven ability of delivering against set objectives and achieving key organisational targets.
- Proven evidence of developing and leading Quality Assurance programmes, systems and processes.
- Experience in a palliative/ life limiting/ end of life care setting.
- Experience in recruitment, career development and performance management.
- Determination to achieve high standards and strive to deliver improvement in patient care across the organisation.
- Ability to command confidence of internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.
- Salary between £85,000 - £95,000 DOE.
