THE ROLE

About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHCP Writer to join our growing team. As an EHCP Writer, you will be responsible for reviewing, refining, and finalizing AI-generated draft EHCPs, ensuring they accurately reflect the needs of children and young people with SEND. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that these plans are person-centred and outcome-focused while benefiting from the efficiency provided by our innovative AI tool.
Education, Health and Care Plan Writers will be working in a new team. Training and induction support will be given to successful candidates. Working hours and location are flexible.

About You
The ideal candidates will have:

  1. Experience of working within a Local Authority SEND team.
  2. Proven experience in writing EHCPs or similar documentation, preferably within an educational or healthcare context.
  3. In-depth knowledge of DfE statutory requirements around SEND, especially EHC Plans and reviews.
  4. Minimum 3 years of experience writing and amending EHCPs, preferably working with multiple councils and familiarity with various local approaches to EHCPs.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of EHCP processes, including statutory requirements and best practices.
  7. Passion for leveraging technology to improve educational outcomes and streamline administrative processes.
  8. Excellent attention to detail, being able to review and verify large amounts of information using technology.
  9. Knowledge and understanding of the EHC framework and statutory assessment pathway.
  10. Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by the families of children/young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities, focusing on ensuring a child-centred approach.
  11. Confident use of ICT systems including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, internet etc.
  12. Commitment to equality and diversity.
  13. Current DBS Checks in place.
