About the role

Morrison Water Services is recruiting for an Electrical Site Team Leader to work on our Anglian Water contract based in Colchester.

As the Electrical Site Team Leader, you will be part of our Construction Team. This role involves the supervision of projects from inception to completion.

The role will be site-based, requiring regular communication with other members of the construction and delivery team based in our local office.

Working under the Site Manager, the Electrical Site Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of delivery teams and sub-contractors on site.

The role will require the effective utilisation of time and resources to meet budgets and delivery programmes. As an Electrical Site Team Leader, you will be expected to carry out the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, quality, and performance standards, ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and MWS approved standards.

You will be accountable for SHEQ performance of Projects, including undertaking and recording findings of periodic SHEQ visits. Act as an ambassador for the company by supporting, promoting, and implementing all company and Business Unit initiatives.

Committed to driving cultural change into the Delivery and Design Teams, eliminating/minimising physical and non-physical waste - i.e. recycling techniques, workshop recharges, standing time, etc.

Be responsible for communicating and recording all Corporate, SHEQ, and Business Unit briefings. All briefings/inductions are recorded on relevant forms and retained for reference.

Appropriate welfare is available for use and well maintained throughout the construction phase. You will ensure all site personnel hold relevant qualifications and training to carry out their duties.

You will be responsible for the timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget. Attend internal and external review and progress meetings. Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installation & construction teams. Monitor SHEA, legislative & programme performance of sub-contractors as per your own team.

You will be responsible for all SHEQ issues on site, which will form part of your role. This includes the completion of paperwork, including weekly safety, environmental and quality inspections, tool-box talks, site-specific risk assessments & method statements.

Ensuring Personal H&S & MTRA are completed and valid. Ensure near misses are recorded through good catch. Carrying out ad hoc risk assessments as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in the water industry.
  • Certificate in Site Safety Management (or attended a 5-day course).
  • Trained and experienced in Electrical Installations in the construction industry.
  • Effective manager of sub-contractors, able to influence client judgement.
  • Basic Management training, skills & experience, with a good understanding of legislative and corporate SHEQ/Industry/Legal requirements.
  • Comprehensive IT abilities including MS Suite, alongside good Project and programme management skills.
  • Good communicator, able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience and pass on skills.
