Emissions Certification Engineer

Peterborough (PE1) - Hybrid (3 days in the Office / 2 days WFH)

Initial 12 month contract -likely to extend for the right person!

Do you have experience of heavy-duty diesel or automotive engines emissions regulatory compliance, and can navigate your way around the regulations? Are you familiar with regulation certification compliance or do you have technical experience in regulations? If yes, this could be opportunity for you

We are looking for an Emissions Certification Engineer, to join our client's Emissions & Power Systems Compliance Team in Peterborough. Currently the team are working from home and onsite in Peterborough. For the right candidate, this assignment will present opportunity and challenge in equal measures. Whilst this is an initial 12 month contract, it has the potential to extend for the right person as long as the business need is there.

What will the Emissions Certification Engineer do?

  • Deploy clear explanations of engine emissions certification requirements, the associated legal obligations and business processes
  • Lead the execution of engine emissions certifications from receipt of request, through certificate received, to emissions label implementation
  • Coach other business areas on certification requirements, to ensure timely execution of certifications
  • Maintain owned emissions certificates and associated labels through life of production
  • Develop/foster a collaborative relationship with global governmental agency representatives

What skills and experience does the Emissions Certification Engineer need?

  • Hands on experience in obtaining engine emissions certification
  • Strong moral compass. A passion for doing things right and to a high standard
  • An eye for detail, with a track record in consistently delivering work to a high standard of accuracy
  • Confident and effective communicator - able to articulate our client's focus on compliance, and to challenge the status quo where necessary, to establish the facts.
  • Proven ability to instigate and successfully lead parallel work streams to firm timing & quality targets
  • An engineering or legal education / background
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse functional areas and remote centres of business
  • Ability and interest in digesting regulatory materials
  • Ability to travel (occasional) and represent our client on a global platform
