Job Description

Job Title: Employee Relations Specialist (15723)

Contract Type: 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Luton

Team Overview:

The Employee Relations (ER) team provides expert guidance, coaching, and support on employee relations cases and policy interpretation across all levels of the business. As part of People Service Delivery, ER prioritises a customer-centric approach, empowering managers through training, toolkits, and self-service resources to handle cases effectively while mitigating risk. They oversee case management, including investigations, grievances, whistleblowing, performance and absence management, and other complex matters, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism. ER also plays a key role in change projects like TUPE, redundancy, and legislative updates, offering support, updating materials, and ensuring smooth transitions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert advice and coaching on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and people initiatives.
  2. Proactively manage ER cases from initiation to resolution, ensuring compliance with policies and best practices while mitigating risks.
  3. Build strong stakeholder relationships, leveraging data and insights to drive strategic decision-making and improve case management.
  4. Support managers through coaching and tailored training to enhance ER capability.
  5. Oversee case administration, maintain accurate records, and analyse trends to inform proactive interventions.
  6. Support change initiatives such as TUPE, redundancy, and redeployment.
  7. Contribute to policy updates, develop training materials, and work collaboratively to drive continuous improvement in ER practices.

Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience in Employee Relations, advising on complex, high-risk cases.
  2. Strong understanding of UK employment law and experience applying legislative changes.
  3. Excellent communication, consultative, and conflict resolution skills.
  4. Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  5. Experience in a large, international, and ideally unionised environment.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems.
  7. Flexibility to travel across easyJet Base locations in the UK.

Location & Hours:

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week, with hybrid working (3 days in the office).
