Engineering Manager - Train Operating Company

Position: Engineering Manager

Rate: Indicative Outside IR35

Location: Birmingham

Start date: April

Contract Duration: 9 months

People Group are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager from a Client Side background to work for a Train Operating Company.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive operational supervision and technical guidance from key leaders within the business.
2. Plan, develop, coordinate and review engineering and design work.
3. Management of all associated design registers, meeting minutes, and drawing registers.
4. Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters.
5. Lead within the weekly programme co-ordination/look ahead meeting with detailed understanding of dependencies, problems posed, and available resolutions.
6. Management and sequencing of supply chain and internal resource in line with programme requirements.

Essentials and Desirables:

1. Experience working client side within the rail sector (preferably on Depots).
2. NEC3 / NEC4 working knowledge.
3. Preferably a Chartered Engineer, and have a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years general relevant experience.
4. Health and Safety Qualification IOSH minimum.
