The Opportunity Radar Healthcare's new Engineering Manager We're looking for a hands-on, people-focused Engineering Manager to lead and support our growing team of software engineers. In this role, you'll help shape a positive team culture, guide individual development, and drive the delivery of high-quality software. You'll work closely with product, technical leads, and other stakeholders to balance priorities, allocate resources, and keep projects on track. Beyond day-to-day delivery, you'll play a key role in refining our engineering practices, supporting career growth, and contributing to the wider strategy.

What you'll be doing to make a difference: Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers to foster their technical and professional development.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and goal-setting discussions.
- Drive recruitment efforts, hiring, and onboarding of new team members to grow the engineering function.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
- Identify skills gaps and implement training programs, mentorship initiatives, and learning opportunities.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
- Support career progression pathways for engineers, aligning their growth with company needs.
- Collaborate with CTO, Head of Development, Product Managers, Technical Leads, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of software products and features.
- Collaborate with Scrum Master, Head of Development, Lead Tester & Product on resource skill requirements, allocation, balancing team workload, priorities, and deadlines.
- Facilitate agile processes, ensuring best practices are followed for development and delivery.
- Advocate for software engineering excellence, including code quality, testing, and automation.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the engineering organization, supporting the delivery of Radar Healthcare's mission.
- Drive improvements to engineering processes, tools, and team workflows.
- Collaborate with leadership to define engineering roadmaps, budgets, and resource plans.
- 5+ years experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and modern software practices.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow software engineers at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex challenges and improving team performance.
- Have experience working in healthcare technology, regulatory environments, or SaaS platforms.
- Are familiar with cloud technologies (e.g. Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Hold certification in agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum Master, SAFe).
- Have experience of scaling teams in a fast-growing organisation.
