As an Engineering Delivery Project Manager, you'll drive the successful delivery of our Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) programme, overseeing projects valued at up to £35 million.
What you'll be doing as an Engineering Project Manager- Act as an Engineering Delivery Project Manager responsible for a series of projects as part of the delivery of the Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) programme. The role will be delivering projects ranging in complexity up to £35m in value.
- Working as part of a wider SEMD team to deliver the AMP8 programme and beyond. Acting as the Project lead from conception to handover. Developing robust and safe concepts and/or solutions is a key requirement for this position and project delivery procedures.
- Lead in planning and delivering design-and-build activities, including overseeing the commissioning.
- Accountable for developing the projects and documentation for submission through the Governance process to achieve the correct funding to deliver the project as required by the internal stakeholders/client.
- Work with the team to achieve the time and cost targets.
- Work with and indirectly manage a wider Thames Water team of multi-function engineers and environmental, construction, and commercial assurance support.
- Act as the key contact to support the CDM Designer or Principal Designer role, particularly for projects where in-house engineers undertake the design.
- Competent in risk management, including risk identification, mitigation, and control. A key requirement for this position is the ability to de-risk and add value during the outline design stage.
- Provide Project Assurance during the delivery, commissioning and handover of assets.
- Capable of working on several projects and managing the works awarded to Internal stakeholders, framework suppliers/contractors and external consultants.
Role Location: This role will be based on a hybrid basis at one of Thames Water's sites and flexible on base location. Depending on business needs, you must work on-site and in the office 2-3 days a week.
Successful candidates must have a driver's licence and access to transportation and be prepared to travel across the Thames Water catchment. This role comes with a £4,500 car allowance.
What you should bring to the role- Degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of SEMD/security would be beneficial but can be trained by the successful candidate, so it is not essential.
- Experience and knowledge of end-to-end project delivery process.
- Knowledge in process design, technical, commissioning and construction assurance, including integration of ICA / SCADA in the utilities industry.
- This role comes with a competitive salary between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
- Car Allowance of £4,500 per annum.
- Annual Leave 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
