Newcastle Private is seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our level 2 North surgical team on a Full-time or Part-time basis with the ability to work across Newcastle Private.

Level 2 North has a wide range of specialities including gynaecology, urology, colorectal, paediatrics, and general surgery. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate team player to join our North family. Our nursing staff are known for their nurturing and supportive approach, creating a warm and welcoming environment for both colleagues and patients.

About us

Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

We also have a cardiac suite, including a cardiac catheter laboratory, and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite, including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery, is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

As an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care to individuals/groups under the direction and supervision (either indirect or direct) of the RN
  • Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
  • Act as a role model for Safe Practice
  • Administer medications according to state law and organisation policy
  • Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development

About you:

To be successful in your application, you will need to meet the requirements below:

  • Minimum 12 months acute surgical experience in a hospital setting
  • Proven acute ward experience with gynaecology, urology, colorectal, paediatrics, or general surgery
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Demonstrated time management & organisational skills with the ability to meet objectives/timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Competence in IV medication administration

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement , a salary ranging from $34.59 - $48.58 per hour.
