Description & Requirements

For our Equity Research Team in London, we are looking to hire an Equity Research Associate - Industrials.

Berenberg has one of Europe's largest equity research teams. A deep understanding of industries, companies, and stock markets, detailed financial analysis, and a thorough assessment of management expertise underpin our successful stock-picking approach. Berenberg's team of analysts constantly identify mispriced shares to provide timely investment recommendations. Freedom of thought and complete independence are core to our research philosophy.

What will you do?

  • Conduct research on a range of companies across the Industrials sector (primarily Capital Goods but also supporting Aerospace and Defence).
  • Research and review company accounts/reports, analyze trends and newsflow within the industry, and help write research notes on companies within the sector.
  • Attend company presentations, conferences, events, and meetings with company management.
  • Build, update, and maintain excel-based financial models in a timely manner.
  • Undertake various tasks associated with the research function, update databases useful for analysis, review and archive research material.

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience as an Equity Research Analyst is helpful but not a requisite. Exposure to Industrial and/or Capital Goods sectors, either in industry/consulting or from within an accountancy firm, would be advantageous.
  • ACA Qualification with 1st time passes at one of the Big 4 accounting firms is a significant advantage.
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of detailed analytical work and numerically astute.
  • Knowledge of company valuations, financial modeling, and accounting principles.
  • Advanced IT skills, including all standard Office applications.
  • Visa sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom is supported.
