The role is a crucial post in leading the delivery of a world-class Design & Development service and establishing a first-class business partnering relationship with the Clinical Groups at GSTT. The role will be the conduit between Essentia Design & Development teams and the clinical groups, ensuring consistent service delivery, supporting coordination of governance, and assisting clinical groups in interpreting GSTT 2030, the emerging Estate Strategy to support their demands for all aspects of GSTT Estate across all associated available space.
Main duties of the jobThe postholder:
- Lead, with the support of the Assistant Director, the functional implementation of a clinical group business partnering function into one or more clinical functions.
- Hold responsibility for the strategic planning, governance, outline design, and smooth handover to the project delivery team so that healthcare facilities meet the clinical needs of the Trust for one or more clinical groups for estate solutions varying in value from £50k - £100m.
- Input functional priorities to the development and implementation plan for GSTT Estate Strategy, considering clinical priorities developed as part of the new business partnering function.

Person Specification Qualifications/ Education- Construction / Property / Estates management related master's degree qualification or relevant experience in similar roles in an Estates environment.
- Significant experience in an Estate Strategy role in a large organisation.
- Professional registration e.g., MRICS.
- Experience of construction contracts, contract management, and procurement practices relating to project and service delivery.
- Project management experience including procurement of professional teams, cost forecasting and budgeting, value engineering, and contract procurement.
- Experience of project/supply chain procurement and management.
- Experience of reviewing Strategic Operating Plans and transposing an Estates supporting solution.
- Clinical or operational NHS experience.
- Excellent understanding of capital programme delivery.
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to communicate highly complex information where exceptional influencing skills are required.
- Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate, and involve individuals and teams, ensuring understanding of Trust-wide and local performance expectations.
- Strong knowledge and experience of contract management and procurement, cost management and budgeting, and supply chain management.
- Possessing a high level of attention to detail. A natural collaborator, working cross-functionally at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines whilst under pressure.

Salary: £82,462 to £93,773 per annum incl HCA
