Overview of Role:
The person will join the Power and Gas Desk, and will learn and gain insights about trading operations and processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the commodity trading industry and will allow him/her to gain more insight into how a trading business is built and maintained. Alongside the desk traders and analysts, the successful candidate will be involved in developing a robust codebase and pipelines to ensure Front Office have all necessary resources at their disposal.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain the python codebase for quantitative models and reporting;
- Implement ETL pipelines for new data sources;
- Collaborate with traders and analysts to implement new models and reports;
- Assist the analysts in maintaining front end visualizations and optimize where necessary;
- Develop and enhance the existing analytical tools and databases;
- Maintain the CI/CD pipelines code build, test and deployment;
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager.
Profile:
- The individual should have the following experience:
- Degree in computer science or related discipline;
- 3-5 years of coding expertise with a mandatory 2+ years of experience in Python;
- Experience in a real-time trading environment managing both short and long term deliverables;
- Experience working with and maintaining databases (SQL Server or Snowflake preferred);
- Good knowledge of data structures;
- Self-driven with the capability to excel both independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure.
