Executive Assistant to the Chief People Officer

Salary Range: £39,520 - £46,592 per annum

Key Information

Salary: Appointments are normally made at the starting salary, however comparable skills and experience will be considered. Future progression is based on annual performance review.

Duration of Contract: Non-time limited

Hours per week: 35 hours per week (Full Time)

Location: Sutton/Chelsea. This role is eligible for hybrid working but the post-holder will be expected to work on site at least two days per week.

About the Role

The Human Resources Directorate at the Institute of Cancer Research has a vacancy for an Executive Assistant. The purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Chief People Officer (CPO). The position can be based at Sutton or South Kensington, London with the expectation to work at the other ICR site as required. Professional Services post-holders are normally expected to work on site at least two days a week.

The focus of the role is to deal promptly with incoming emails, post, phone calls and enquiries or requests for information and escalate as appropriate; manage the CPO's diary, prepare correspondence, reports, slides and presentations; and arrange meetings for the CPO and senior HR Team members as required. The post-holder will be expected to prepare a range of professionally written documentation as well as producing clear and accurate minutes of and agendas for meetings, so a keen eye for detail and excellent IT skills are crucial.

As a self-starter with the drive to really make a difference, the successful candidate will have a high level of organisation skills, personal responsibility and integrity.

This position requires excellent communication skills, with an ability to deal in a diplomatic manner with key stakeholders at all levels, building and maintaining effective relationships, while delivering across multiple areas of work simultaneously. You will need to have the ability to work independently and pro-actively and have well-developed analytic and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will have sound experience as a senior PA/EA ideally gained within an academic, health or related sector and will have the confidence to make decisions that will maximise efficiency, and experience of contributing to projects of significant complexity and scale.
