The Role

As a key member of the Operations Team, you will install, configure, test, maintain, and support our systems at customer sites, including hardware, software, cabling configuration, and testing.

You will provide a quality on-site and remote technical support service to internal and external customers, following customer issues through to completion to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction have been achieved.

Candidates will take a pro-active approach to support, implementing contingency procedures to improve service.

You will contribute to the ongoing development of both existing and future products.

As a key channel between the customer and Development Team, you will feedback customer improvement ideas for evaluation.

Carry the support phone on an agreed rota basis and provide out-of-hours assistance to staff, customers, and strategic partners.

Contribute to the evaluation of new technologies and software products as relevant to the development of Lava Group products.

Work with the Operations Manager to ensure the successful implementation of key projects.

Excited by technology, you will keep up to date with current and future technology that Lava Group could exploit.

You will mentor, encourage, and facilitate the development of others in the team.

The Individual
  • Preferably a time-served apprentice with 1-2 years of experience in a field service / Installation role, ideally within the Electronics or Fire & Security service industries.
  • A multi-talented individual with cross-disciplinary interest and experience.
  • Possess a mix of IT and engineering skills.
  • Computer literate (essential) with experience of PC-based support tools.
  • A logical, methodical thinker with creative problem-solving ability.
  • Candidates should possess a positive team player mentality and the ability to work independently using their initiative.
  • Skilled in effectively prioritizing their own workload and demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and composure when faced with changing circumstances and varying levels of pressure.
