Salary: Up to £53,000 plus £5319 London Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: Office Base is London Television Centre. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

THE ROLEThis is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Analyst to join the Brands & Licensing finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will work across 2 key lines of businesses within Licensing, namely Radio & Music and Live Events. There may also be opportunities to assist in other businesses where necessary.
The Analyst will provide professional financial support to key stakeholders, ensure effective control of financial processes and deliver operational excellence. They will work alongside Finance Business Partners delivering financial and business analysis to help solve key business problems, progress local initiatives, answer business questions and influence business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
- Support the businesses by ensuring the billing of royalties is accurate and timely, which will involve close management of the finance operational process, and rigorous review and challenge of royalty statements received.
- Work with both internal and recently outsourced finance teams to reconcile accounts and provide complete and accurate reporting of revenue received and pay away calculations to beneficiaries.
- Work closely with the Commercial Planning & Analysis team to assist with the forecasting and budgeting process, to ensure that actuals are correctly reflected, and variances explained.
- Assisting in month end reporting, including provision of information, analysis and supporting commentary to a range of stakeholders across finance and the business.
Analysis & Insight
- Review and challenge record company royalties and audit statements.
- Analyse tour and event costs and audit ticket sale and royalty reporting.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to support monthly business reviews, risks and opportunities and commercial business decisions.
- Deliver high quality financial and business analysis with recommendations for solving business problems and to influence and challenge business decisions.
- Perform investigative financial and operational business analysis across interconnected business units (e.g. technology, HR, production).
- Promote and deliver improvements through identifying and recommending opportunities for efficiencies and value generation.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements, and assisting with audit queries.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain effective and collaborative working relationships across the Finance community.
- Build and develop strong relationships with key business and finance stakeholders.
- Ensure analysts and the relevant Finance teams are informed of issues, analysis and decisions that impact them or require their support/views.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the divisional business - building and developing effective relationships with key business contacts.
- Resolve specific and ongoing financial and business issues and problems in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Experience of reviewing company royalty statements and challenging and auditing statements.
- Significant experience of delivering a high quality accounting and reporting service
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence
- Ability to take complex data/principles and to communicate these in an understandable way to wider BBC team
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
