About the role

In your role as Finance Business Partner - Investment Segment, you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to identify areas within and in relation to the Investment Segment, with responsibilities for aspects of financial business support and planning, including month-end processes and various papers and presentations to committees and boards.

Together with the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will proactively support driving change and provide financial support to enable the Investment Segment to deliver its strategic objectives whilst managing approved budgets.

Build and maintain strong relationships between the Investment Segment and Finance to ensure robust financial management and accurate, timely forecasting.

What you will be doing

As a trusted part of the Finance team, you will:

  • Implement and monitor strategic plans, including cost-saving initiatives, ensuring budget holders are accountable
  • Provide insights into Investment Segment financials for MI, Exco, and Board presentations
  • Enhance forecasting and variance analysis to offer better insight into spending drivers
  • Review and challenge business cases, assessing financial impacts and broader implications
  • Identify and drive change initiatives, focusing on sustainable cost savings and Value for Money
  • Model financial impacts of business changes, including new products, resource planning, and reorganisations
  • Manage and report on monthly and quarterly performance for the Investment Segment, identifying key trends and insights
  • Meet regularly with stakeholders to deliver both high-level and detailed financial insights
  • Ensure accurate headcount reporting and committed expenditure analysis, addressing key budget variances
  • Collaborate on external information requirements, such as benchmarking and cost transparency initiatives
  • Oversee month-end processes, ensuring appropriate controls and understanding within the Investment Segment
  • Document processes and controls to maintain business continuity within Finance

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Business partnering experience
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills (Intermediate/Advanced PowerPoint)
  • Advanced Excel and modelling skills working with potentially large data sets including sensitive information
  • Experience in month-end processes, including accruals/prepayments
  • Experience managing planning processes and providing support into presentations, analysis, and papers to a wide variety of stakeholders including executive committees/boards
  • Knowledge/experience of financial products/concepts that the Investment Segment uses or invests in (desirable)
