The role

As an FP&A Reporting Manager within our Rail business, you'll be key to the business. Day to day, you will support the FP&A Director, responsible for governance, control and reporting, ensuring stakeholders receive accurate and timely financial data.

You will work closely with the Sector FP&A team and the SLT in preparing financial reporting deliverables, managing governance procedures including audits, risk reporting, technical accounting papers, legislative compliance and reviewing the implementation of accounting policies.

  1. Overall management and responsibility for the production of rolling re-forecast, budget, monthly, quarterly, 6-monthly and annual reporting requirements.
  2. Liaise closely with finance teams to complete management reporting, financial analysis and ad hoc reporting requests.
  3. Maintain financial controls framework across the business unit, including coordination of governance returns to Sector & Group.
  4. Finance lead for coordination of risk reporting submissions, ensuring risk register outputs are reflected in controls improvement plan.
  5. Review implementation of accounting policies and relevant standards, ensuring compliance with IFRS15, IFRS16 and IAS 19.
  6. Ensure accounting judgements are appropriately reviewed and documented.

Essential experience of the FP&A Reporting Manager

  1. Knowledge of financial accounting, reporting and legal standards.
  2. Capability to influence multiple communities for focused delivery while preserving individuals and teams.
  3. Expert in financial accounting, systems and processes with a proven track record of control assurance and enhancement.
  4. Extensive experience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and financial modelling including Power Query.
  5. Experience of ERP systems and finance consolidation tools (Preferably SAP).
  6. Experience of working in large organisations with geographically spread stakeholders.

Qualifications for the FP&A Reporting Manager

  1. Recognised Professional Qualification e.g. (ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA) with demonstrable PQE experience in a similar FP&A role.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS clearance level for this role.
