Job Description

TMM has been appointed by a global PE backed energy service business to recruit a Financial Controller on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

This key finance leadership role will support the CFO while maintaining a strong connection to the Business Unit Managing Director. The successful candidate will provide critical accounting oversight, financial reporting, and business advisory support for the business unit, helping to drive operational and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting business growth and operational efficiency across sales, cost management, and working capital using Strategic Financial leadership.
  • Delivering insightful analytics to guide decisions and drive performance in revenue, margins, and EBITDA.
  • Leading financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Overseeing cash forecasting, audits, and financial processes for strategic projects.
  • Engaging in business reviews and partnering with leadership to meet financial and strategic goals.
  • Ensuring smooth month-end close and accurate reporting.
  • Building a high-performing team and maintaining strong governance across finance functions, while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or an MBA is strongly preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong background in manufacturing finance, with specific experience in inventory accounting highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, implement financial controls, and support business strategy through data-driven insights.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Sage and/or custom platforms a plus), and driving finance transformation initiatives.
