Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is presently representing a leading energy consultancy firm in their search for a Financial Controller to join their team. Reporting into the Finance Director, the successful candidate will own a broad and varied role and will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the finance department.

Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is presently representing a leading energy consultancy firm in their search for a Financial Controller to join their team. Reporting into the Finance Director, the successful candidate will own a broad and varied role and will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the finance department.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee daily bookkeeping activities, including management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank transactions.
- Production of monthly management accounts with detailed analysis.
- Profit & Loss analysis, including revenue recognition.
- Full ownership of the month end process.
- Year end: Ensuring that the year end accounts are closed off in a timely manner including prepayments and accruals, depreciation & revenue recognition.
- VAT/HMRC and all regulatory payments.
- Continuous improvement of finance workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
About You:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferably within a growth-oriented organisation.
- Recognised chartered accountancy qualification: ACA / ACCA or CIMA.
- Ideally experience of working in industry post qualification.
- Must have experience of managing a finance team.
- Experience and understanding of Management Accounts, including balance sheet reconciliation.
- Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office - predominantly Outlook and Excel & Xero.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse data.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing demands and can prioritise work effectively.
