Job Description

Flexible Part-time or Full-time Up to £70k (depending on work patterns and experience)

What You'll Own:

Financial Operations: Take the reins on our day-to-day financial activities-think accounts payable/receivable, payroll, expenses, and banking.

Compliance & Tax: Keep us on the right side of tax laws and financial regulations, covering VAT, corporation tax, and official filings.

Audit-Ready: Lead the charge when it's time for audits or financial due diligence with external partners.

Tech-Savvy: Work with tools like Xero, QuickBooks, Excel, Google Sheets, and SaaS-specific platforms to keep everything running smoothly.

Cost Management: Track expenses, analyze trends, and recommend cost-saving opportunities that won't compromise growth.

Reporting That Matters: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. You'll create key metrics that help our board and investors see the bigger picture.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with our leadership team to plan budgets, manage cash flow forecasts, and track performance against goals.

Process Improvement: Spot inefficiencies? You'll streamline processes, optimize systems, and strengthen our financial controls as we scale.

Investor Support: Help us shine in fundraising rounds with solid financial models and due diligence materials.

What We're Looking For:
  • A sharp, detail-oriented finance professional who's not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks, from high-level strategy to hands-on number crunching.
  • Strong communication skills-you'll work closely with different teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with scaling financial processes in fast-growing companies? That's a huge plus.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 3 years startup experience
  • Preferable qualified accountants with certification from a recognised professional body:
  1. ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) - via the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales)
  2. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
  3. CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
  4. CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy)
