About Our Client
Michael Page is pleased to be supporting an innovative and market-leading European business in hiring a Financial Controller UK&I to report into the European FD for their UK Business, to be based in Stockport. It's an exciting time for the Group as they have started a finance transformation project which this new hire will play a key role in.
Job Description
Reporting to the European FD, you will be responsible for:
- Empowering the accounting teams by providing developmental support, goal-setting, and expert mentorship.
- Distributing tasks and responsibilities to align with departmental goals, ensuring efficient team operation and objective fulfillment.
- Conducting evaluations and delivering constructive feedback to nurture team growth and performance.
- Financial Accounting & Reporting.
- Coordinating, preparing, and submitting the accounting operations to provide IFRS monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, in accordance with the group calendar to IFRS group and local standards for the UK & Ireland entities.
- Coordinating local and group external auditors for annual audits and statutory accounts preparation, ensuring any audit issues are resolved and communicated.
- Overseeing VAT, PAYE, and other tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and ownership of payroll accounting, interfacing with HR and payroll provider.
- Assisting as required by the Controlling department to contribute to the annual budget process for the UK & Ireland.
The Successful Applicant
You will need to be:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified accountant with a strong background in IFRS experience.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in finance, including 7-10 years in a sales-focused industrial finance position and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- SAP S4HANA experience is a must, and HFM/Hyperion knowledge would be beneficial.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial information.
