Freelance IT Telecoms Infrastructure Project Manager

Project Overview

The Freelance IT Infrastructure Project Manager will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from vendor selection to full implementation, ensuring smooth execution across all technical and business aspects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Vendor Selection & Evaluation: Lead the tender process, assisting in the selection of the most suitable vendor for the telecoms network transformation. Ensure thorough evaluation of proposals and alignment with business needs.
• Project Management: Oversee the deployment of the chosen telecoms solution, ensuring successful implementation within scope, timeline, and budget.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between vendors, internal teams, and IT staff, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal technical teams and external implementers on a daily basis, ensuring alignment and smooth execution.
• Multi-Project Management: Handle multiple parallel projects and interfaces related to network security, data networks, and voice telecoms, ensuring efficient coordination across all initiatives.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks, resolve challenges, and ensure smooth progress of all project phases.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all technical and contractual aspects align with regulatory requirements. Manage documentation in both Dutch and French.

Experience & Background

• Proven experience in IT Infrastructure Project Management, ideally within telecoms networks, data networking, and IT security.
• Previous experience leading projects in network security, data networks, or voice telecoms.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate across different technical domains.
• Technology & Domain Knowledge
• Familiarity with telecoms networks, voice telecoms, firewalls, and IT security solutions.
• Understanding of network security principles and data networking architectures.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure deployments.
• Languages & Soft Skills
• Fluency in Dutch and French (must have one as a native language and be able to read and understand the other for reviewing tender documents).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge internal teams and external vendors.
• Ability to work in complex, fast-paced environments and maintain strong coordination between multiple teams.
